Take a journey through beautiful Worcestershire countryside and take in four woodlands, lots of wildlife and breathtaking views.
The Worcestershire Woods and Wildlife Walk has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of their grant to help us purchase Blackhouse Wood nature reserve.
Join Worcestershire naturalist, author and radio presenter, Brett Westwood, on an eight mile walk on the edge of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The walk takes you through a diverse landscape created by complex geology, through ancient woodland, traditional orchard, meadows, pasture and farmland. As well as nodding flowers and dancing butterflies, keep a lookout for geological and historical evidence as you walk. You'll pass old houses and farmsteads and walk down old holloways, through hand-dug quarries and along ancient boundaries.
The audio tracks (mp3) to accompany your walk are available to download below. Please also download the map and directions to help you on your way.
If you'd prefer to also have a booklet to take with you, you can buy the Worcestershire Woodlands and Wildlife Walk publication from our online shop, Lower Smite Farm or the information centre at The Knapp and Papermill nature reserve, the start of the walk. The booklet costs just £1.00.
You can stream the audio tracks below or, if you'd prefer, right click on the link to the file and choose 'save audio as' to download for offline listening.
