Funding from Severn Waste Services through the Landfill Communities Fund is an incredibly important source of income for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and has helped with our conservation work right across the county.
Since 2013 we have received over £316,000 in grants from Severn Waste Services through the Landfill Communities Fund.
About Severn Waste Services
Evesham-based Severn Waste Services operates waste management and recycling facilities for Worcestershire County Council & Herefordshire Council.
The company has contributed over £10 million towards approved environmental and community projects in the two Counties, through the Landfill Communities Fund.
The Landfill Communities Fund is an innovative tax credit scheme enabling operators to contribute money to organisations enrolled with ENTRUST as Environmental Bodies. Since its inception in 1996, over £1.6 billion has been spent on more than 56,000 projects across the UK.

Conservation work on nature reserves
Since 2013 we have received £96,000 for conservation work on 10 different nature reserves.
Tor Coppice
In 2018 we received a grant of £40,000 towards the purchase of this small ancient woodland, which links up with The Knapp and Papermill nature reserve.
Hardwick Green Meadows
In 2018 we received a grant of £50,000 towards the purchase of this internationally important collection of wildflower meadows in the Malvern Chase area.
New conservation vehicle
In 2016 we received a grant of £20,000 for the purchase of a new conservation van.
Blackhouse Wood
In 2015 we received a grant of £40,000 towards the purchase Blackhouse Wood, a 38.5 hectare ancient, semi-natural woodland in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Hollybed Farm Meadows
In 2014 we received a grant of £50,000 towards the purchase and restoration of this unusually large 16 hectare traditional grassland site located just south of Castlemorton Common, in the Malvern Hills District. .
Baynhall Meadow
In 2013 we received a grant for £20,000 to purchase this small meadow near Naunton Beauchamp – one of the best examples of ridge and furrow meadows in Worcestershire.
